A Computer Science Lecturer at the Koforidua Technical University in the Eastern region, Dr Ben Kwofie has advised Ghanaians to take advantage in the advancement of technology and advertise their products on the internet in this era of COVID 19.
The lecturer is optimistic that with the advancement in technology many businesses can be transacted online for customers and clients to patronize easily. According to him the opportunity which can be utilized wisely to boost businesses has been abandoned for a long time. Before the outbreak of corona virus in the country the online businesses were there but only a few patronized.
Due to restrictions in movement and other things many businesses have resorted to the online business strategy to make better their sales as they are gradually collapsing. Some businesses like Alibaba,Tonaton, Jumia and other well known online shops have already taken advantage of the online business transactions.
Dr Ben Kwofie told Host of Delight Fms Morning Show Wofa Agyenim Boateng that firms can make a lot of sales through online means. “I always advise my students to take technology serious because we are in a technological world so you must help friends and relatives to do online businesses. There are many schools in rural areas that don’t have computers in their schools but they can use smart phones in the absence of the computers to learn Information Communication Technology (ICT)” he said.
The use of technology in the country has become a major problem due to the absence of network or internet data in some areas.
