Assemblyman for the area, Stephen Mawuli Dogbe, who confirmed the incidence on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Wednesday morning said several other students were also injured.

He explained that it was raining with heavy winds when the students went in search of proper shelter.

But Mr. Dogbe said the deceased who decided to seek shelter behind the building met her untimely death when the building collapsed.

The others, he added, sustained varying degrees of injuries with one in critical condition at the Twifo Praso government hospital.

The Assembly man noted that the school was in session as at the time the incident took place so it has affected teaching and learning because the pupils will have nowhere to sit.

The Assemblyman also added that most residents in the town have been rendered homeless as over 30 houses have collapsed as a result of the storms.

It is not clear if there has been a NADMO response to the plight of the students and the community yet.
